Steve Jobs' 2005 Stanford Commencement Address

Vê este discurso do Steve Jobs, o dono da Apple, aos alunos que vão começar a faculdade em Stanford uma das melhores universidades dos Estados Unidos.

É um discurso muito bonito, até emocionante e é fácil de entender.

Lembrei-me de ti quando disse:

"Sometimes life hits you in the head with a brick. Don't lose faith. I'm convinced that the only thing that kept me going was that I loved what I did. You've got to find what you love. And that is as true for your work as it is for your lovers. Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven't found it yet, keep looking. Don't settle. As with all matters of the heart, you'll know when you find it. And, like any great relationship, it just gets better and better as the years roll on. So keep looking until you find it. Don't settle."

Andas a estudar arte e muitas vezes as pessoas perguntam "para que é que isso serve?" ou "que emprego é que isso dá?". Não sei responder a isso mas desde que eras a "menina dos desenhos" na infantil que eu soube que tinhas esse talento. Não deixes que escolham por ti o que vais ser. Faz aquilo que ele diz, faz um muito bom trabalho porque tens a sorte de fazeres o que gostas. Não te contentes em fazer mais ou menos, faz muito bom. Sempre muito bom.

E quando alguém estranhar porque é que não foste para engenharia ou economia, responde-lhes que é o que eu mais gosto de fazer e essa é a única maneira de eu poder ser muito boa naquilo que vier a fazer.
